Labelling policy
How we label products
Organic & natural. Honestly labelled. We sell organic plus natural and low-tox products. Every product carries exactly one of three badges, so you can see what's behind each claim at a glance.
Certified organic
Certified by an organic certifier, and the badge always names it: for example ACO, NASAA, SXC, OFC, Demeter, COSMOS, GOTS or OCS. We show the certificate or licence number when we have it, and where the certifier details came from (for example the supplier's own product page).
You can look the certifier and number up on the certifier's public register. Certifiers we recognise · How to check an organic certificate
Organic (brand-labelled)
Shown as “Brand-labelled organic: as described by the brand”. The brand labels the product organic, or made with organic ingredients, but we don't hold a certificate for it. We pass on the brand's own description and don't call it certified.
In Australia, products can be called organic without certification as long as the claim isn't false or misleading. If certification matters to you, choose a “Certified organic” product.
Natural & low-tox
Made with natural or low-tox ingredients, with no organic claim. This is where you'll find many cleaning, body care and home products.
“Natural” and “low-tox” aren't regulated terms, so we describe each product plainly and list what's in it.
What we promise
- One badge on every product, chosen by the seller and reviewed by us before the product goes live.
- We never write “certified” or “verified” on a product unless the certifier is named.
- We don't make health claims, and a badge is not a health or safety rating.
- If you think a badge is wrong, email info@blueberrybearorganics.com.au. We pause the listing within 24 hours of a credible report while we look into it.
