Where to buy organic food on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast
South-east Queensland's two coasts are well served for organic shoppers. Both have dedicated organic grocers, farmers markets and hinterland farms within an easy drive. This guide lists places to start on each coast and explains how to check that "organic" means certified.
Please read first
The businesses below come from our Queensland organic directory. We listed each one from information on its own website, checked on 16 October 2026. They are not Blueberry Bear sellers or partners, and we have not verified their organic certification. Descriptions sum up what each business says about itself. Opening hours and ranges change, so check their websites before you go.
Is your business listed and you'd like it corrected or removed? Our contact page explains how.
Gold Coast
Organic grocers and health food stores
- Your Organic Pantry, Burleigh Heads: organic fresh produce, bulk foods and groceries, open seven days.
- The Wholefood Pantry, Palm Beach: organic grocery, bulk foods and café, with an online shop. Says its fruit and veg is certified organic.
- Wyld Organics, Paradise Point (and Loganholme): family-owned organic produce, bakery and pantry stores.
- Health Food Central, Burleigh Heads: health food store with organic fresh produce, at Stockland Burleigh Heads.
- Market Organics, Southport: part of a family-run group of organic grocers across Brisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast.
Farms and producers
- Nosey Gnome Organics, Tamborine Mountain: family-run farm shop with click and collect, and stalls at the Helensvale and Robina farmers markets.
- Love Organics, Burleigh Heads: small-batch krauts, kimchi and relish it describes as certified organic.
- Sprout Organic, Burleigh Heads: kids' and baby foods it describes as organic.
Markets
Two school-ground farmers markets are popular with Gold Coast families. Times below were published by a stallholder and may change:
- Helensvale Farmers Market (Helensvale State High School): Saturdays, 6am to 11am.
- Robina Farmers Market (Robina State High School): Sundays, 6am to 11am.
These are general farmers markets, not organic-only, so check each stall.
Sunshine Coast
Organic grocers and marketplaces
- Kunara Organic Marketplace, Forest Glen: a large organic food store with a café and garden centre.
- Belmondos Organic Market, Noosaville: a marketplace housing an organic grocer, butcher, bakery and café, each run independently.
- Organika, Noosaville: organic grocery, bulk foods and café.
- Wildwood Organics, Yandina: local organics and health food store.
Co-ops and farm stores
- Maple Street Co-op, Maleny: an independent co-operative grocer established in 1979, focused on local, organic and regeneratively farmed produce.
- Kandanga Farm Store, Mary Valley: a farm supplies store, open Fridays, that also sells organic dairy, beef and chicken.
Box delivery
- Good Harvest Organic Farm: picks, packs and delivers produce boxes it describes as certified organic.
Markets
- Noosa Farmers Market (155 Weyba Road, Noosaville): Sundays, 7am to midday, as published by the market.
- The Original Eumundi Markets run on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They're a large art, craft and produce market rather than an organic market, so check individual stalls.
Between the two: Brisbane and the hinterlands
If you're travelling between the coasts, Brisbane has a dedicated organic farmers market at Northey Street in Windsor on Sunday mornings, plus organic grocers, butchers and delivery services. See Where to buy certified organic food in Brisbane.
The Scenic Rim and Tamborine Mountain behind the Gold Coast, and the Blackall Range and Mary Valley behind the Sunshine Coast, are home to many small farms. Some sell at farm gates or local markets. Look out for certificates on display.
How to check it's certified
- Look for a certifier logo and number on packs, signs or price tags: ACO, OFC, SXC or Demeter in Australia, or overseas marks on imports.
- Ask to see the certificate at farm shops and market stalls. Certified growers usually have it on hand.
- Look it up on the certifier's public register. Our guide How to check an organic certificate shows how.
- Watch the wording. "Spray-free", "chemical-free" and "natural" aren't the same as certified organic. See certified organic vs spray-free vs natural.
- Check for older NASAA certificates. NASAA Certified Organic withdrew as a certifying body in 2025, so its logo alone is no longer current proof. Our NASAA guide explains.
A shop can sell certified organic brands without being certified itself. That's fine, but it means you should check the brand's certification on each product. If a store repacks bulk or loose food into its own bags, ask whether the store is certified for repacking.
Tips for coastal shoppers
- Take a cooler bag. Coastal summers are hot, and markets start early for a reason.
- Go early for the best choice, or late for possible end-of-day deals.
- Shop the season. Both coasts sit close to growers of strawberries (winter and spring), custard apples (autumn and winter) and mangoes and lychees (summer). Our tropical fruit guide has more.
- Bring your own bags and jars for bulk stores.
- Combine trips. Many grocers also run cafés, so it's easy to make a morning of it.
Where Blueberry Bear Organics fits
We're building a marketplace where every Queensland seller is checked against its certifier's public register before listing, and every product shows its certifier and certificate number. We'd love to include businesses from both coasts. If you run one, see our Sell with us page. Until real sellers join, the stores and products on our marketplace pages are fictional and clearly marked SAMPLE, and they're kept separate from the public directory above.
Business details from each business's own website, checked 16 October 2026. Market times as published by the market or a stallholder. Not an endorsement. General information only.
